I bought a new domain without a particular need. It happens. Then I created a placeholder landing page, which is a task without constraints, so I baked in some (relatively) new #CSS:

  • light-dark color function
  • svh unit
  • lh unit (waiting for rlh tho)
  • min/max functions
  • forced-color-adjust
  • CSS system colors (waiting for AccentColor tho)
  • text-wrap: balance

Fun! The last one alone made me really happy, as it degrades well when not supported.

I guess the moral of the story is: Make sure you’re able to work on (small) projects where you allow yourself to experiment with new things, ideally in public:

Innovation [shouldn’t] be done on localhost, innovation needs to be done out there, in the open.
